FLAME RETARDANT

Flame retardant yarns are especially designed for the furniture industry, interior decoration and design, to fulfill the most demanding requirements of international fire regulations.
In Italy, the classification of fire retardant fabrics is divided into five classes. Class 1 covers fabrics with the best ability to react to flames, with LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) values of between 28 and 34.
The LOI represents the minimum concentration of oxygen in the air that supports the combustion of the material.
The higher the LOI index, the higher the flame retardant capacity of the fabric.

From TREVIRA to MODACRILICO flame retardants… the technical possibilities are countless, from the fibres to the treatments on the finished product, and all to ensure the fabric has several degrees of flame retardant capacity.
